My 6 year old son did not offer to make me coffee every morning.

I did not offer to let him reheat leftover French pressed coffee in the microwave.

I did not intend to drink a few sips and then pour it down the drain.

My son listened carefully as I described exactly how to use the microwave and which microwave safe mug to use.

My son did not harass me the next morning through the bathroom door asking if I wanted coffee.

My son did not grab the sun tea in a glass jar (with metal lid) from the fridge.

He did not put it in the microwave. He did not press the ‘beverage’ button.

My knight in shining armor did not have to rush to stop it before the microwave blew up.

I was not trying to have a quiet moment in the bathroom as all this played out.

Knight in shining armor immediately told me all of this.

Son did not say to me 2 hours later, “So, putting metal things in the microwave makes sparks, right?”

I, of course, already knew everything due to my mommy super powers.
