I do! Someone in my family is expecting a precious package in 2010, so I was thrilled when I got the announcement about Resa Design’s 12 days of Christmas sale. The only bummer for me is that the gender of this little one has yet to be discovered. I guess that’s good for Mr. T though, or at least his pocketbook. If you know of someone expecting or with a little one, you really need to check out Resa’s beautiful baby items. I must apologize, because I’m a bad blogging friend & only announcing this at the very end of the sale! At least there are a couple of days left to hop in.

Today’s deal is especially great for stocking stuffers for the infant you know. Burp cloths are $5, custom burp cloths are $6.50, and I even picked up a burp cloth to send to Operation Shower for $3.60! Resa is incredibly generous as she discounts any items purchased for Operation Shower and ships them to the organization on your behalf for FREE!

Speaking of Operation Shower, I recently participated in a MomTV special show hosted by Danielle of Extraordinary Mommy. Danielle highlighted Resa and many other mom-made businesses that are participating in Holiday Shoperation. It was really amazing to see what these fantastic women are doing to support military families. Catch the replay of the November 17th show here on MomTV. Choose Menu – View Movies – Live Recording 11/17/2009 to learn more about all the shopping deals.

Another mom business I was introduced to during the show was My Doodle Bop. Kristin has created several different styles of signs to hang on your infant’s carrier to help friends and strangers think twice before touching your precious cargo. The signs sport the phrase “My hands are clean, Are yours?” The signs are only $9.95 with free shipping & during the month of December, 10% of all sales benefit Operation Shower. Kristin gave out some of her signs as prizes for those chatting during the MomTV broadcast & I won one. I am so impressed with the design, a bit larger than I expected, they are sure to grab everyone’s attention. They are very sturdy, I suspect they would last through many babies, so they’d be a great gift for a first time mom.

What is on your shopping list for those experiencing their first holiday season?

If you missed the live Handmade Holidays show on MomTV don’t worry. Catch the replay (a recording of the live show) here. You can’t see the live chat room, but I tried to read everything from the chat room for you, so you don’t miss a thing.

Here’s the pattern we’ll be working on. It’s the “first half”. The supply list and knitting instructions. I’m a bit behind due to my hubby’s illness, so I haven’t finished up all the pages with the charts yet. That will follow, I promise!

Here are the show notes with the links I posted in the chat room during the show, and a few extras to give you an idea what the supplies look like.

It’s not too late to join us. If you get your supplies ready and begin to cast on, you can ask questions here on the blog or over at MomTV on the discussion board. All questions will be answered during the live show next week.

Better yet, get a Stickam account, bring your yarn and needles and join me live via webcam. It’s a lot of fun, I promise!

Just a quick note, my live show Handmade Holidays: Learn to Knit premieres tomorrow evening, Wednesday, Sept 23rd at 9 p.m. (eastern).

The topic for the first week will be all about how to shop for your supplies for our project. We’ll be making these monogrammed knit cloths:

They can be used as dishcloths, washcloths, hot pads, you could even make several and frame them for wall decor. As we work through the weeks, we’ll show you other ways to use them as well, for example, stitching 2 together to make a small pillow for a child or for travel. There are lots of great possibilities.

Get ready for the show by hopping over to MomTV and create yourself an account so you can join our live chat room by text. Better yet, visit Stickam, create an account, and you can join us live with your own webcam. This feature will be awesome as we start knitting if you run into questions or just want to show your progress.

I look forward to chatting with you tomorrow night about yarn, needles and how to get started knitting!
