Can the dplicate stch only be done in knitt stiches..what about patterns that invole yarn over?
To my knowledge it is usually done over plain stockinette knitting. I have not been able to find any examples of the duplicate stitch being used in any other way. I suspect the tightness of the stockinette keeps it in place, and because lace or items with yarn overs would be too loose to hold the new yarn in place.
This is the only example I know of which would combine the two: Knitty.com Back to School It has an intentional block of stockinette for the duplicate stitch, but lace patterns around the stockinette.
Hope that answers your question. Good luck!
