Mr. T is home. He left 9 days ago on a business trip, spent 5 of those days in the hospital, and is finally home. The doctors still don’t know what caused it. Generally people with his high levels are either “crush” victims (i.e. major car accidents) or on illegal drugs. He was neither. There is still one test outstanding, looking for a genetic cause, but since his liver and kidneys were back within normal ranges, they let him come home. YAY!
I’m actually okay with not knowing the Why? of it all. We’ve been down this unknown medical road so many times in our married life, we’re pretty used to it. Plus, we know we have the Holy Spirit, who Jesus said in John 16:7 is our helper/counselor. I believe the Holy Spirit prepared me for extended days without my husband, told my husband to hop the last flight out of California to STL that night so he’d be in a hospital here and not there, and gave help in so many other smaller ways during this process. I’m still processing all that’s happened, how it happened and the good things that have and will come from it. There will be more blog material from this adventure to be sure!
Thanks seems so insufficient for all the kind words, tweets, e-mails, etc. I’ve received in the last week. Sometimes you just float through life not realizing how many people care for you. I definitely am more aware now of how many people love me & my family. Old friends and new, here in Missouri and across the country, I’m truly overwhelmed by it and so incredibly grateful for all of you!
For now, I’m going to enjoy the rest of my Labor Day holiday. Hope you enjoy yours as well!
