Can’t help it, I’m a brand girl

I was raised in a cash-strapped family. I had to make my financial choices wisely. Despite all the awesome money saving strategies I learned from my mother, I can’t help myself, I’m a brand girl. There are a few brands that I will buy without a second thought, because, in my personal experiences, they have proven themselves.

One of my all time favorite brands is Apple. One of my favorite stories to share includes my Apple loyalty. In an early lunch encounter with my future husband, we had a PC vs. Mac dispute. We got over it, went on to date, and he has since purchased me several Macs over the years.Macbookpro17

All that to say, I had to take my precious MacBook Pro into the Apple store this evening. My battery was well past it’s lifespan, double the 300 cycles it should have in it. The hard drive is beginning to fail, and I had a cracked key on my keyboard that I hadn’t bothered to deal with yet. I must say, my first experience in the Apple store was positive. While I did have to wait a bit past my appointment time, Eric, who helped me was fantastic. It’s a wee bit scary to leave a piece of equipment with so much information, that is so attached to your work and life, but I know they’ll give it back better than it was. And for any of you who wonder, the AppleCare extended warranty was totally worth it! My MBP isn’t quite 2 years old (or 2 yrs in my possession I should say), but they are taking care of everything, at no cost to me! w00t!

So for the next four days, I’m taking back my kids’ laptop. This could get ugly. If I start twitching from Mac withdrawl, will someone please send me a free iPhone? I need an upgrade from my old non-Apple phone, but I’m not eligible yet.
